We just posted another "Free Windshield Webcast" in our Free Video Tutorial section. What we are doing is offering some of our videos to the general Internet public via YouTube, for free, so that they can see the types of things we do, and perhaps become members. The latest Webcast is on Using the Right Mouse button...

A few weeks ago, UNO Journalism student Sam Pettro stopped by a class at the SHF Computer Lab, and did some filming and interviewing. The segment he put together as part of his class work, is intended to become part of an NET (Nebraska Educational Television) documentary entitled "Aging in Nebraska".

Over the weekend, Sam uploaded his segment (minus some additional graphics he's going to add) to YouTube and sent us the link. We've added a copy of it here for you to see...

We also just posted our first "free" Windshield Webcast up on YouTube. What we are doing is offering some of our videos to the general Internet public for free, so that they can see the types of things we do, and perhaps become members. Here's the first one we've published:

We just finished adding the latest Windshield Webcast. This episode is about using the Print Screen button on your keyboard to capture your screen, and then print it out by using your wordprocessor. It answers the question... "how on earth do I print something I see without having a print button?"

And if you missed it in our last news posting, if you now go into the Class Handout section, we added the Basics 1 and Basics 2 PowerPoint presentations in PDF format. I'll be adding more of the PowerPoints over the next couple of weeks, so you'll want to continue checking back.

We had yet another "ah-ha" moment today, and ended up adding another NEW Member-Only page to the Member-Only section of the site. If you look at the Main Menu to your left, you'll now see "Member Booklets". The booklets in this section come from blogs and questions we've answered, where we got carried away and wrote a lot more than we probably should have.... thus creating a "booklet" rather than just another handout. If you are a member, be sure to check it out.

Also, if you now go into the Class Handout section, yesterday we added the Basics 1 and Basics 2 PowerPoint presentations in PDF format. I'll be adding more of the PowerPoints over the next couple of weeks, so you'll want to continue checking back.

If you are just a visitor to our site, you can see samples of our videos if you click the Class Video Tutorials menu option in the Main Menu on the left of this page.

We started our Computer Basics series today at the SHF lab in Omaha, and I had a student ask if the PowerPoint slide presentations we used for class were up on the DiscoverSkills we site. Great Question. Well, my answer to her was "no, but they will be by tonight!".... and I've just fulfilled the promise.

Members, if you now go into the Class Handout section, you'll see I've added the Basics 1 and Basics 2 PowerPoint presentations in PDF format. I'll be adding more of the PowerPoints over the next couple of weeks, so you'll want to continue checking back.
